Each year, thousands of donors give through the Sanford Health Foundation and Good Samaritan Foundation to help enhance care for patients, residents and families across the Midwest.
But last month, it was our turn.
In March, Sanford Health and Good Samaritan employees helped raise $593,863 during our annual Celebration of Gratitude campaign, a month-long effort designed to celebrate the impact of philanthropy and inspire employee participation.
“The Celebration of Gratitude campaign gave employees the chance to support the mission they live out every day — not just with their time and talent, but with gifts from the heart. We are blown away by their participation and we couldn’t be more grateful for their generosity. Our Sanford Health and Good Samaritan families are simply the best.”
Double the Impact
Again this year, gifts received during the Celebration of Gratitude campaign carried an extra special meaning: Every dollar donated by employees during the month of March was matched by Sanford Health to grow the Employee Crisis Assistance Program. Since 2020, this important program has distributed nearly $2.7 million to members of our Sanford and Good Samaritan families who are facing unexpected financial hardships, offering hope and support when it’s needed most.

Helping Hands, Giving Hearts
In 2024, more than 13,100 employees like Kaci Petersen, an inpatient medical coder in Bemidji, made gifts of all sizes to advance our mission to care, comfort and cure. Their contributions totaled more than $3.2 million.
“My giving journey started small, but that’s OK. Even the smallest amount can have a big impact. When you have a community of people who feel strongly about making a difference, every gift adds up in big ways,” Kaci said.
