giving for good sioux falls

In partnership with supporters across the Sioux Falls region, we are pioneering life-saving medical research and enhancing care for patients at every age and every stage of life. We do this through philanthropy-funded services like Child Life, nurse navigators for cancer patients, new 3D mammography technology and survivorship programs. We also are helping kids experience the healing power of play and therapeutic benefits of the outdoors through the Billion Pavilion, a new outdoor play area for pediatric patients and their families.

Last year, we put $8.1 million in philanthropic gifts to work across the Sioux Falls region. Read more in the 2025 annual report.

Leadership Connection

A region update from Andy Munce, president & CEO of Sanford Sioux Falls.
April, 2026

Last year, Sanford Children’s Hospital in Sioux Falls had the privilege of caring for nearly 28,000 local children — each with unique and often complex needs. Whether providing urgent, lifesaving care or long‑term treatment and support, our team is here for every child and family, every step of the way. This impact is possible because of friends like you. Your support allows us to lead the way in providing world-class pediatric health care for the Sioux Falls region.

As a member of the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN), Sanford Children’s Hospital is home to 135 pediatric experts trained in more than 35 pediatric specialtiesThis care extends beyond the walls of our children’s hospital through critical spaces and programs like the Boekelheide Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), the region’s only Level IV NICU; the David H. and Christine Billion Pediatric Emergency Department, the state’s only 24/7 emergency department just for kids; a pediatric cystic fibrosis center; and a children’s oncology group, which connects Sanford to other children’s oncology hospitals across the nation. Sanford Children’s Hospital is also a member of the Neonatal Research Network, ensuring the smallest and most fragile newborns have access to cutting-edge care and treatment. But behind every specialty, every distinction, every milestone and every healthy future we’ve helped make possible is one constant: you. This year, we proudly celebrate 30 years of pediatric critical care, marking three decades of advanced, compassionate care for children when they need it most. Thank you for helping to make Sanford Children’s Hospital what it is today — we are beyond grateful!
