giving for good marshfield
Across the Marshfield region, your generosity enhances patient care and research in our communities. 100% of donations stay local to help brave people fighting cancer, support expert care for kids, assist families in need and advance health care close to home. Your gifts offer a home away from home for cancer patients at Cattails Place. You provide child life and expressive therapies, including a facility dog, for kids at Marshfield Children’s Hospital. You made it possible to open a new cancer center at Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson.
Last year, we put $8.1 million in philanthropic gifts to work across the Marshfield region. Read more in the 2025 annual report.
Local Priorities
Philanthropy is an integral part of the care provided at Marshfield Clinic. The Sanford Health Foundation in the Marshfield region plays a crucial role in supporting specific programming for patients and staff, upgrading essential equipment, and funding special projects tailored to meet the needs of our communities.
Leadership Connection
A region update from Dr. Brian Hoerneman, president & CEO of Sanford Health Marshfield Clinic.
April, 2026
Last year, Marshfield Children’s Hospital had the privilege of caring for more than 24,000 local kids — each with unique and often complex needs. Whether providing urgent, lifesaving care or long‑term treatment and support, our team is here for every child and family, every step of the way. This impact is possible because of friends like you. Your support allows us to lead the way in providing world-class pediatric health care for northcentral Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. As one of only four designated children’s hospitals in Wisconsin and a Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) partner, Marshfield Children’s Hospital is home to more than 40 pediatric specialties offering expert, compassionate care for kids. Our leading-edge facility offers Level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), a Level II pediatric trauma center, the region’s only pediatric oncology inpatient unit and more.
But kids need more than treatment when they’re in the hospital, and that’s where the child life program comes in. In collaboration with pediatric care teams, child life specialists provide education, preparation, therapeutic play and emotional support to help kids get better, faster. Child life is provided at no cost to families because of philanthropy. Your support for child life helps us provide music and art therapy, Dolly the facility dog, coping and preparation programs for kids and more. This year, we are celebrating 30 years of child life at Marshfield Children’s Hospital.
That’s 30 years of offering comfort, guidance and joy to kids when it matters most, thanks to you. Thank you for supporting child life at Marshfield Children’s Hospital — we are beyond grateful!
Dr. Brian Hoerneman
