Every dollar donated across the Fargo region is making a difference for local patients, families and employees. Through philanthropy, lifesaving care is offered close to home at facilities like the Sanford Roger Maris Cancer Center, the Sanford Medical Center and the Sanford Children’s Hospital. We introduced the region’s first facility dog, Fox who provides comfort and enhances care for patients at Sanford Children’s Hospital. We’re working to provide a home-like retreat for cancer patients and families through the region’s first-ever center for patient lodging. When it opens in 2027, the Peltier Lodge will provide a home away from home for cancer patients and their families.

Home to North Dakota’s only Blood and Bone Marrow Transplant Program, the Sanford Roger Maris Cancer Center has become a regional destination for care. With your help we can expand treatment options, like bone marrow transplant, and enhance services like nurse navigation, art therapy, music therapy, survivorship programs and financial assistance to help cover the costs of lodging, meals and transportation.

The Sanford Children’s Hospital proudly serves as North Dakota’s only Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Funds raised stay local to support services and programs like child life, school tutoring, and music therapy, provide education and help purchase lifesaving equipment to save and transform lives, close to home.

Gifts to the Fargo Edith Sanford Breast Center Fund help supplement the costs of lifesaving MRIs and 3D mammograms, supports services like nurse navigation, genetic counseling and survivorship programming at no cost to patients and funds cutting-edge equipment and technology to improve breast cancer detection and treatment.

A region update from Tiffany Lawrence, president & CEO of Sanford Fargo

If you’ve driven by our Broadway campus recently, you’ve likely seen signs of renovation and construction at the Sanford Roger Maris Cancer Center. There’s so much momentum happening at Roger Maris right now and it’s all fueled by support from friends like you.

Our Edith Sanford Breast Center renovation will be complete this fall, featuring enhanced spaces and features for patients with breast cancer, all of whom are touched by programs that are fueled by donor dollars, including nurse navigation, research and clinical trials, comfort items for chemotherapy patients, mobile mammography services and so much more.

In November, we celebrated the completion of our new inpatient oncology unit and we are currently updating our bone marrow transplant inpatient unit. These new and updated spaces allow us to care for more patients with complex cancer cases and align with the significant growth of our Bone Marrow Transplant Program. Since launching in 2021, this program, the only one in the state, has already completed 177 bone marrow transplants. Earlier this year, we also launched the region’s first Tumor-Infiltrating Lymphocyte (TIL) Therapy, a ground-breaking form of immunotherapy uses a patient’s own immune cells to fight solid tumors.

And, next year, we will open the doors of the Peltier Lodge, our new center for patient lodging. All these enhancements are critical to helping us serve the growing number of cancer patients who are turning to Roger Maris for care and treatment. We simply can’t thank you enough for partnering with us to support these patients at every stage of their cancer journey.
