Big miracles for tiny hearts

are possible at the new Credit Unions for Kids Micropreemie Unit at Sanford Children’s Hospital in Fargo where we are providing specialized, lifesaving care for babies born before 26 weeks or who weigh under 28 ounces.

 

Cancer patients are seeing a world

beyond their diagnosis thanks to Postcards of Hope, a volunteer effort led by Charlotte Johnson, a social worker at the Sanford Roger Maris Cancer Center. Through each vibrant photograph, patients are finding hope for the road ahead.

 

Kids are fighting type 1 diabetes

by participating in the PLEDGE study, an initiative fueled by philanthropy that aims to identify risk factors for developing the disease. To date, the study has enrolled more than 12,500 children.

 

Selah is healthy again

after battling necrotizing pneumonia, thanks to your support of lifesaving equipment, support services and care teams at Sanford Children’s Hospital. In 2025, she served as a Children’s Miracle Network Champion for Sioux Falls.

 

Cancer treatment close to home

is now available for patients in the Upper Peninsula at the new Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson Cancer Center. A $3 million capital campaign funded enhanced cancer care and research for rural Northwoods communities.

 

Emergency care just for kids

is coming to Sioux Falls. Thanks to philanthropy, the new David H. and Christine Billion Pediatric Emergency Department will open in 2026 at the Sanford USD Medical Center.

 

Early detection is being delivered

to more women across northern Minnesota with your support of a new 3D Mobile Mammography unit, the first-ever mobile mammography service to be offered for the Bemidji region.

 

Hannah is moving forward

and sharing her story of survival from acute T-cell lymphoblastic leukemia. Your gifts to the Sanford Cancer Center in Bismarck give patients like Hannah access to child life specialists, comfort items and specialized care.

 

Lung cancer will be detected sooner

thanks to your support of leading-edge screening equipment and local outreach initiatives like our lung nodule clinic in Bismarck.

 

Jana is smiling and dancing

after living through a Middle Cerebral Ischemic Stroke at the age of 6. Because of you, she had access to specialized care, child life specialists and music therapy to support her recovery. She was featured as a 2025 Children’s Miracle Network Champion for Marshfield.

 

Jen is a breast cancer warrior,

thanks to expert care from the Edith Sanford Breast Center, where your gifts power lifesaving equipment, groundbreaking research and essential programs so she and her family never had to face the journey alone. 

 

A home away from home

is coming for cancer patients at the Sanford Roger Maris Cancer Center. The Peltier Lodge, a new, donor-funded patient lodging center, will offer comfort and healing for cancer patients far from home.

 

Jacob is living beyond limits

after starting his life in the NICU at Sanford Children’s Hospital and surviving a stroke and seizure disorder. Today he radiates positivity, and was featured as a 2025 Children’s Miracle Network Champion during Children’s Hospital Week.

 

Employees are making an impact

above and beyond the amazing work they do every day by donating nearly $703,000 in 2025 to help advance our mission to care, comfort and cure. 

 

Our impact is growing

as we expand into Wisconsin, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, western South Dakota and Wyoming through our merger with Marshfield Clinic Health System and through partnerships with Black Hills Orthopedic and Spine Center and Black Hills Surgical Hospital.

 

Kids can relax and play

at Cully’s Cottage, the newest addition to the Sanford Roger Maris Cancer Center. Made possible by the Cullen Children’s Foundation the space features designated play areas for young children and teens, as well as a sensory room. 

 

Gratitude is shining across our communities

as grateful patients celebrate their care, honored caregivers receive special recognition and heartfelt gifts of gratitude pave the way for future patients to find hope and healing.

 

You gathered to make a difference

at events across the Midwest. From Miracle Treat Day and Radiothons to golf tournaments, galas and more, your support will continue to help us care, comfort and cure. 

 

Kinsley is making a comeback

from childhood cancer, thanks to your donations to specialized care at Sanford Children’s Hospital. Your donations gave Kinsley and her family access to child life, pediatric cancer research, healing spaces and direct assistance programs.

 

Rural care is being reimagined

at the Sanford Virtual Care Center. Made possible by a transformational gift from Denny Sanford, the Center offers access to emerging technologies for rural patients and serves as a premier training ground for the next generation of clinicians.

 

Hospice patients are finding compassion

at the new donor-funded Hospice Suite inside the Sanford Medical Center in Bemidji, offering end-of-life care, emotional and spiritual support and a peaceful space for meaningful moments.

 

Kids and teens are empowered

to build their mental and emotional health through Sanford fit, a program supported by philanthropy that provides youth with educational resources to improve their social-emotional wellbeing.

 

Employees found strength

thanks to support from the Employee Crisis Assistance Program, which provides assistance for health care heroes and staff who are facing unexpected financial hardships. 

 

Landon’s legacy is offering hope

for kids with cancer, thanks to his family’s dedication to the Innovations in Pediatric Oncology Initiative. Here, philanthropy fuels new insights on childhood cancer through advanced immunotherapy and cellular research.
