In September, the Sanford Health Foundation team in Bemidji surprised many Sanford caregivers who had been named Guardian Angels by grateful patients. These gifts of gratitude are from patients who have been touched by the care and kindness of nurse, doctor or other staff member at Sanford Health. We then get to celebrate that person, or team of people, with a special recognition!
Lead occupational therapist
“I would like her to know the work she’s done has not gone unnoticed! Sanford is very lucky to have somebody like Cassie!”
“She was encouraging and so very helpful. Her concern and knowledge have made many daily tasks easier.”
Dr. Kathryn Mell
Family medicine physician
“Dr. Mell listened carefully to my concerns and responded to test results kindly. Truly all the staff working at the Bemidji 1611 building were wonderful.”
“I appreciate her, and I love her like a daughter. I feel blessed to have her as my provider and I recommend her to all my friends.”
Dr. Jerrod Spring
“Dr. Spring developed a wonderful relationship with my 31-year-old son with Down syndrome, who was experiencing mental health issues. Dr. Spring did not just prescribe meds, which was our previous experience, but listened, researched, and looked at David as a whole person rather than a subject to fix.”
Multiple clinicians, staff & teams
“My dad, passed away at Sanford Bemidji on June 1, 2022. My family and I want to sincerely thank the staff who cared for him during his last few days. He frequently praised your staff during the last couple of years of his life, when he was in failing health and needing lots of medical care, but we witnessed for ourselves your expertise and compassion while he was very sick and dying. A sincerest thank you to all of them.”
