A LEGACY OF CARE
Inspired by his own personal experiences and his passion for helping others, Sands recently established a planned gift through the Sanford Health Foundation to support Sanford Behavioral Health and its future work in addiction services.
“I am a big believer in supporting mental health and addiction services throughout our community,” Sands said. “I see it constantly in the construction industry and I see it everywhere in our community. It’s a community problem.”
Motivated by Sanford Health’s leading edge research into behavioral health, as well as its continued efforts to advance workforce, access and delivery solutions for those struggling with behavioral health issues, mental illness and addiction, Sands said he was excited to partner with the Sanford Health Foundation to fulfill his charitable intentions.
“We established a legacy gift through the Sanford Health Foundation because we believe we need long-term solutions to these addiction and mental health issues,” he said. “I believe Sanford Health has lifted our entire community, through many different avenues, and they are always ready to help.”
Ashley Flynn serves as a major gifts officer for the Sanford Health Foundation in Sioux Falls. She called Sands’ giving an inspiration.
