As the Sioux Falls region continues to grow, more women than ever before are turning to Sanford Women’s for comprehensive care — from wellness visits to preventative care, specialty care services and so much more. Elevating Care for Women

Bridging the Gaps in Women’s Health
Across the Sioux Falls region, too many women live in care deserts — places where essential health services are limited or out of reach. Together, we can reach more women, no matter where they live, by:
- Expanding rural outreach with mobile ultrasound units and remote technology
- Hiring more multilingual community health workers to help patients navigate care
- Enhancing programs that support women at every age and stage of life
Enhancing Pregnancy Care
With your support, we can surround women with the care they need — from the first trimester through delivery, recovery and beyond. Together, we can:
- Enhance maternal-fetal medicine services to care for more complex high-risk pregnancies.
- Expand prenatal care and services in rural areas through remote fetal monitoring technology.
- Improve fertility clinic outcomes with state-of-the-art embryo monitoring technology.
- Offer specialized mental health support before and after delivery.
- Deliver faster, more accurate diagnostics through expanded ultrasound and x-ray capabilities at the Women’s Plaza.
- Expand outreach, prenatal education and postpartum support to help reach more women.
Spaces and Support for Healing
The loss of a pregnancy or infant is a heartbreaking experience. With your support, we can ensure no mother walks through loss without the care she deserves.
Together, we can establish a dedicated bereavement suite where grieving mothers and their loved ones can find comfort, emotional support and time to say goodbye.
This suite will feature:
- A Cuddle Cot, a small cooling device that slows natural changes so parents can hold their child in an unhurried and dignified way
- The Comfort Cub, a custom weighted teddy bear designed to provide comfort to grieving mothers experiencing the physical ache of empty arms.
