Radiothon Raises $185,000 for Sanford Children’s Hospital in Fargo

Phones were ringing, music was playing and the spirit of hope was alive inside the studio for Radio FM Media last week as the 24th annual Cares for Kids Radiothon kicked off in support of Sanford Children’s Hospital in Fargo. The event, presented by Corwin Automotive Group, raised $185,000 to help local kids who need care close to home.

“We are so grateful to the Fargo community for stepping forward in generosity to help kids and families who are served by Sanford Children’s,” said Hillery Mork, lead development officer for the Sanford Health Foundation in Fargo. “We can’t say thank you enough to all our Radiothon donors, and to our wonderful partners who made this special event possible — our miracle families, our amazing volunteers and the on-air teams at Y94, Froggy 99.9 and KFGO.”

100% of gifts received through the Cares for Kids Radiothon will help local families who count on Sanford Children’s in Fargo, the state’s only Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals partner, by supporting areas like these:

  • Child Life, school tutoring, music therapy and camps for kids with chronic health conditions — all of which are provided at no cost to families.
  • State-of-the-art equipment and facility improvements that offer lifesaving care and comfort for patients and families.
  • Educational conferences and advanced training that help staff stay on the leading edge of pediatric care.
  • Assistance with lodging, transportation and meals that allow families to focus on what’s important — helping their child heal.

Those who made online donations to the Radiothon had the opportunity to share the inspiration behind their gifts. One donor family, who chose to remain anonymous, said Sanford Children’s will always hold a special place in their hearts.

“We are so grateful for the care our son received during some of the scariest times of our life,” the donors wrote. “Sanford Children’s will always hold a special place in our hearts. We are grateful for the facility, but also the staff. We appreciate all they did and all they will do as we know there will be times in the future we will need them.”
