On June 10, Kristen Zueger will join the Sanford Health Foundation as the executive director of the Sioux Falls region.
Zueger brings more than 29 years of connections and professional experience in the commercial real estate industry. She most recently worked for both Hegg Companies and the Van Buskirk Companies. Through her career, Zueger has not only been instrumental in changing the landscape of Sioux Falls, but has also assisted investors by securing properties across the country.
Zueger also has a rich history with Sanford Health. In 2010, she joined the Sanford Health Foundation board of directors, where she served as chairperson for two consecutive terms. Additionally, as a member of the Gift of Time Campaign Volunteer Cabinet, Zueger was instrumental in helping raise $10 million to support the construction of Ava’s House by Sanford, a multigenerational acute-level care hospice facility in Sioux Falls. Zueger’s mother also worked at Sanford as a registered nurse for 51 years.
In addition to her contributions to Sanford Health, Zueger has served extensively on other area boards, including as the past president of the McCrossan Boys Ranch board and its Foundation board, past president of the American Red Cross board and as a board member of the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce and Girl Scouts – Dakota Horizons.
As the leader of the Sanford Health Foundation in Sioux Falls, Zueger will help expand fundraising efforts across the region.
“I’m excited to lead an incredibly talented team and to connect with supporters in a meaningful way,” Zueger said. “I’d rather be known to have made a difference in the lives of others than for anything else. That’s really my mission now.”
