With COVID-19 present in the community, this year’s Great American Bike Race (GABR) looked a little bit different. The 24th annual stationary bike race was held completely online.
Participants from across the country shared videos of pedaling online and raised more than $232,000 for kids and families in central and western North Dakota.
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of you who have participated,” said Sara Haugen, executive director of the Sanford Health Foundation. “It’s been a joy to watch the creativity, the amazing spirit and the inspiration you’ve all been through this difficult time.”
100% of every dollar raised supports kids and young adults with cerebral palsy and other conditions permanently affecting development.
To date, GABR has distributed nearly $4 million to assist local families with costs not covered by insurance.
