Ask nurse Stef Bull why she loves her job, and she’ll tell you it’s because “amazing things happen at Sanford Children’s Castle of Care every day.”
“We see patients and their families at some of the most vulnerable times of their lives,” Bull added. “I am proud to work here and experience the magic of Sanford Children’s Hospital!”

In honor of National Nurses Week, we asked Bull and her outstanding Sanford Children’s co-workers why they love coming to work. Here’s what they said:
“As nurses, we get to make a difference in children’s lives every day and witness miracles!” – Katie Edgecomb, registered nurse
“I get to take care of children and their families and see them make improvements. It is so rewarding to see the smiles on their face or hear their giggle! I love caring for this population and the amazing co-workers that I do it with!” – Paige Gau, registered nurse
Nurse Brianna Dose and her son Chris, who received lifesaving care at Sanford Children’s.
“I believe in the care happening at Sanford Children’s because it’s more than just a hospital. The care here not only focuses on the patient (child) but the whole family. Everyone that is a part of our team works very hard to make the stay here the very best that it can be. Everyone here treats everyone like family with expertise and skill. I trust and value the care provided here and am so thankful for the Castle of Care.” – Brianna Dose, registered nurse
Nurses Kasey Gauthier, Nancy James, Dawn Malsam, Sarah Antonson and Bethany Schroeder also shared why they love their jobs in this video.
