Every spring, you can find Mitch Hintz going from place to place in his hometown of Dickinson, spreading the word about the Great American Bike Race and raising money for a cause close to his heart.
Mitch was born with cerebral palsy. Now in his mid-20s, he lives independently, in part thanks to support from GABR. Funding from the annual event has provided Mitch with life-changing help, including a lift, vehicle modifications, travel assistance and more.
That support means the world to Mitch and his mom, Donalda.
“They’ve given so much to me and the community that I just decided to give back,” Mitch said.
Mitch and his Mighty Dickinson Riders have raised nearly $250,000 for GABR over the years. The team has taken home the award for top fundraising team 12 years running.
“When I can take Mitch fundraising and tell people how GABR has helped us, they don’t hesitate to donate,” Donalda said.
Mitch is confident they will be top fundraisers once again, but he needs your help to keep the streak. Support Mitch’s Mighty Dickinson Riders or another GABR team by donating at gabr.sanfordhealth.org.
