Making face masks for health care workers

April 28, 2020

Danielle Richter is spending her days sewing face masks, because she has a passion to help others.

The local business owner is one of more than 20 community members who have stepped up over the past couple weeks and donated more than 300 homemade masks to staff and patients at Sanford Health.

“We are so humbled by the support of people like Danielle who are going out of their way to help care for our staff and patients,” said Sara Haugen, executive director of the Sanford Health Foundation West. “Her dedication to supporting others is an inspiration.”

Richter turned to sewing while her business, Get Loose Stretch Therapy LLC, is closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For her, sewing face masks is just another way to help people in need.

“To be able to help people in another way is actually helping me kind of get through some of these rough times,” Richter said.
