The Sanford Sports Complex and Blue Rock Bar & Grill opened their hearts to colleagues in need and helped raise $1,220 for the Sanford Employee Crisis Fund.

After natural disasters, Sanford employees help colleagues in need

After seeing colleagues reeling from the destruction left by the tornadoes and torrential rain that hit Sioux Falls this year, Sanford employees recently stepped up to lend a hand.

On October 2, the Sanford Sports Complex team hosted a fundraiser at the Blue Rock Bar & Grill to benefit the Sanford Employee Crisis Fund. Blue Rock generously donated 10 percent of the entire day’s sales to the fund, while dozens of employees stopped by to contribute.

By the end of the day, $1,120 had been raised to support the fund, which assists Sanford employees facing financial hardship due to unforeseen circumstances.

“Kudos to the Sports Complex team for initiating this great effort, and thanks to Blue Rock and our employees who showed their support,” said Jade Delaney, a development officer with the Sanford Health Foundation. “When you see such an outpouring of generosity, you’re reminded that we’re family here at Sanford. Every dollar raised will support colleagues in need.”

Any Sanford employee can apply for assistance from the Employee Crisis Fund. All applications are anonymous and reviewed by a committee comprised of Sanford employee donors.

Are you a Sanford Health employee?

Sanford Health employees can support this crucial resource by giving through payroll deduction, a PTO donation or a one-time gift at sanfordhealthfoundation.org/giveback.

When the unexpected strikes, gifts help meet basic needs, like food, housing, clothing and transportation. A gift of $10 per pay period, for example, could cover $240 worth of grocery gift cards for a co-worker experiencing a crisis.
